Bloomberg Equality – 6/29/2023 Show

Outlet: Bloomberg
In this live special edition of “Bloomberg Equality,” Scarlet Fu and Romaine Bostick cover stakeholder capitalism and the politicization of ESG with special guest
Witold Henisz, Vice Dean of the ESG Initiative at The Wharton School.

“There’s a whole range of environmental, social, and governance factors which might actually influence long term profitability,” says Witold Henisz on the Bloomberg Equality show beginning at the 16:20 minute mark.

“We want to know what’s going on under the hood. We want to know about the governance, the ethics, the legal compliance of the company because it can impose long term risks. Climate is also like that. If firms don’t attend to the climate transition they could be exposed to long term risks and [be] missing out on business opportunities. We want to build that information into the way we value companies and the way comapnies set strategy for themselves. That’s not political, that’s just good business.”
